Few Words
A very special museum is located in Cyprus off the coast of Ayia Napa. The idea for the Museum of Underwater Sculptures Ayia Napa (MUSAN) came from the mind of the sculptor, photographer, and environmentalist Jason deCaires Taylor. He designed it expressly to promote biodiversity in the region. His 93 works of art, which are composed of pH-neutral concrete and high-grade marine stainless steel, encourage marine life to begin flourishing there exactly like on man-made reefs. These objects, which are positioned 8 to 10 metres deep, are made to draw different kinds of marine life. The region’s waters are so pristine that visiting the subterranean gallery is safe for both divers and snorkelers.
