It includes 10.000 years in its environmental morphology and history. It offers a mature expanse to discover its many secrets and myths. The favorable warm weather encourages the people to relax on short trips or day trips due to the small distances. The outskirts of the island cities have easy access by bus with the gift of nature being offered as a result, at the cultural beauty and knowledge thanks to the various trails. Collectively 52 hiking trails have been created which highlight the natural beauty, and the intense historical identity of the island. Walking amongst nature you will come across remnants if mythological and traditional secrets, historic monuments, an unpredictably rich fauna and flora and with hidden treasures of the Cypriot mines.

An old quarry, a large number of fossilized marine organisms, and a vantage point at the peak of the Cape from which one can see as far as the Stavrovouni Monastery. On a very clear day the heights above Haifa in Israel, are visible. The impressive cliffs are suitable for climbing.

Necessary Gear

1. Do not move outside the signs along the trail so that you can protect the rare plant types within the forested area.
2. Do not smoke and keep your food inside your backpacks. Protect the environmental treasure from unexpected fires.
3. Do not make unnecessary noise. Respect the natural world of the birds, the animals and enjoy the natural sounds.
4. Maintain the space clean. Leave your trash in the bins or choose to take them with you.
5. Spend the night in the visitors’ camp sites.
6. The entrance to vehicles within the path is not allowed.
7. Protect the natural beauty by avoiding cutting branches, bushes or unrooting plants and carving trees.
8. The lighting of fires in protected areas is strictly prohibited. Respect what is offered from nature and the camping site. Lighting fires is allowed ONLY in special barbecue sites.
